1. What is BİLGİDoğada?
BİLGİDoğada, which was held for the first time in 2017 within the scope of Istanbul Bilgi University Summer School, is a special module that gives Istanbul Bilgi University students, the majority of whom are city residents, the opportunity to experience an environment and social life outside their own habits.
2. Where do courses take place?
Courses take place 12 km from Çanakkale/Ayvacık district centre. It takes place at Güzelköy Primary School, which is a distance away.
3. How many periods does the BİLGİDoğada module consist of?
It consists of two semesters. Each semester in the module covers a 15-day training period.
4. On what dates is it held?
On the date to be determined for the summer school in 2025.
5. How many credits do the courses consist of and how many courses can be chosen?
All courses consist of 6 credits and can be selected from the “full list.” Maximum of 2 courses can be chosen in a semester.
6. How many students can be accepted?
40 students can be accepted for each semester.
7. What kind of events are organised?
In both semesters, seminars will be organized to support the theoretical aspect of the courses and a walking tour in Kaz Mountains will be held once in each semester. Participation in events such as seminars, mountain walks and bread/yoghurt making workshops is mandatory.
8. Where to stay?
They will stay in Ayvacık district center. Hotel rooms are for 2, 3 and 4 people and rooms have a toilet and shower.
9. How to get there?
Local transportation will be provided through a company contracted with Istanbul Bilgi University. Transportation will be provided by shuttles between Ayvacık - Güzelköy - Ayvacık every day.
10. Are meals provided?
Breakfast will be served in the kitchen of the hotel and is included in the course fee. Lunch will be served by village residents working as the kitchen team in the garden of the village school between 12.30-13.30 and is included in the course fee. Dinner is the only meal not included in the fee. The hotel where you are staying has a large kitchen available to all participants. Additionally, students who wish will be presented with a list of restaurant suggestions they can go to in surrounding areas.
11. What is the fee?
The fee determined by Istanbul Bilgi University per 6-credit course within the scope of the 2024-2025 Summer School is also valid for the BİLGİDoğada module.
